Writing in Quarantine

This is not a post made to say how you should be more productive in quarantine, or how you have not done enough if you haven't finished all of your projects or wrote a book.
Believe me, my sense of work and sleep has been completely out of whack since the day I came home from my office in March and did not return.
However, because of being stuck in place, I have had an amazing opportunity to learn more about my peak energy period and when I am most inspired.
If you are looking to knock something off of your bucket list or simply finish that project that you started months ago, here are some tips that helped me finally finish my book.
Take advantage of the time that you are productive. Hear me out, not everyone is meant to be a 9-5 employee. If you find yourself not able to sleep or wide awake at 3 AM, do not force yourself to fall asleep. Go to work. Get your laptop out and write. Get your canvas out and paint. Do something.
Take advantage of the time that you are inspired. If you have a great idea, do not wait to write in down. Do it now!
Always be writing. If you prefer a pen and paper, keep a notebook with you at all times. If you don't mind electronics, keep ideas in a set of texts to yourself.
Do not force creativity. Not everyday is going to be full of amazing ideas. I used to be under the impression that being a writer meant that I had to write 8 hours a day like an office job. This could not be more wrong. In quarantine, there have been days that I did not write a thing. There have been other days that I wrote all through the night without sleep.
This time has been incredibly weird. Do not feel pressure to do everything all at once, but do take advantage of the times that you are full of energy and ideas.
